    Coravin

    Coravin, Inc. is a company based in Burlington, Massachusetts that manufactures products for the wine industry. Its first product, the Coravin System, uses patented technology to pour wine without taking the cork out of the bottle. Ingenious! Although based in the US this handy little contraption is now available in Australia. Coravin launched its first product, the Coravin 1000 System in July 2013. The Coravin system fits securely on top of a bottle of wine and carefully extracts wine from a bottle with a slim needle and replaces the volume with Argon gas, an inert gas that is present in the air we breathe every day. In theory, this process makes it possible to enjoy a bottle at a future date without any oxidation. Coravin was founded in 2011 by Greg Lambrecht, a Massachusetts Institute of Technology graduate and medical device inventor. Former CEO of Keurig, Nick Lazaris joined with him to pioneer the new technology and become CEO of the US based company. In September 2014, Coravin announced the opening of their European Headquarters located in Amsterdam. Frederic Levy, former Nespresso executive was appointed CEO in February, 2015.
