Extremely Limited Gaja Allocation

Some of you lucky people may have tasted (or at least heard) of the legendary wines of Angelo Gaja - the ‘undisputed King of Barbaresco.’  For those of you who haven’t, this is your chance to get your hands on some of the most sought after wines in the world and taste for yourself just why they are so revered.

I remember vividly the first time I tasted Gaja’s wines, and it remains one of my most memorable wine moments of all time – these are wines that stop you in your tracks, they demand your attention, contemplation and reflection.

Angelo Gaja has always been a risk-taker, he has ruffled feathers throughout his illustrious career - pulling his wines out of the DOCG ( Denomination of Controlled and Guaranteed Origin -the highest designation of quality among Italian wines) system and then replacing them, planting international grape varieties, blending Barbera with Nebbiolo, daring to introduce foreign wine-making methods. He is undoubtedly the main reason that the great wines of Piemonte now stand (or lie) firmly alongside Grand Cru Burgundy and Cru Classé Bordeaux in any collectors cellar.

We have secured a very limited parcel of a selection of Gaja’s wines and are extremely excited to share these with you. This is the ultimate gift for any wine lover, and offers a rare opportunity to secure an allocation some of the worlds finest wines.

Quite simply, the 2016 is one of the very finest Gaja Barbarescos in recent memory. This is such a gorgeous wine. Don't miss it.

GAJA SPERSS 2015

GAJA SPERSS 2015

Another smoking good 2015 that shows the sunny warmth of the vintage in its massive bouquet of blackcurrants, kirsch liqueur, red plums, Asian spices, violets, and flowery incense. It reminds me of the incredible 1997, and Barolo doesn't get any more sexy or opulent. This brilliant, full-bodied wine has ripe, velvety tannins, beautiful depth of fruit, and a great finish.

GAJA COSTA RUSSI 2016

GAJA COSTA RUSSI 2016

18/20pts 96+pts

Barbaresco. From the Roncagliette cru. Just mid ruby and a shade deeper than the straight Barbaresco. Very deep and concentrated and complex on the nose. Cherry and raspberry with a savoury edge. The palate is packed with red fruit and bags of fine sandy tannins, but it is all still embryonic. Elegant and poised yet firmly structured. Beautifully balanced. A wine like a sculpture.

GAJA SORI TILDIN 2016

GAJA SORI TILDIN 2016

18.5PTS 97pts

Barbaresco. From the Roncagliette cru. Mid ruby. Great focus and purity on the nose. Gorgeous, perfumed raspberry with minerally, savoury nose in the background. Gorgeous balance of concentrated red fruit that is still very much embryonic and a super-fine layer of long tannins. Contained yet lots of depth. Elegant, austere perfumed fruit finish. Quite spectacular but not ready by far.

The Sorì San Lorenzo just explodes on the finish, with an array of aromas, flavors and textures that will leave readers weak at the knees. The 2016 is an outrageously beautiful, vivid wine of real gravitas and power.
