Woods Crampton Eden Valley Shiraz is a great example of what happens when you combine cool climate Eden Valley fruit from a great vintage with the delicate touch of two talented winemakers in Nicholas Crampton and Aaron Woods. Deep and inviting nose displaying a perfumed lift from the cool climate fruit. Supple and generous, full of dark berries and spice. Well rounded oak plays its part nicely, making for a supremely 'drinkable' but also cellar worthy wine. For a small winemaker, Woods Crampton has achieved a lot in a small amount of time. “The straight men of the Barossa new wave” Woods Crampton make contemporary and balanced wines, a world away from the fruit bombs of the past.

Barossa and Eden Valley Shiraz, I’m told, is as still as popular, if not even more popular, as ever. This other Eden, demi-paradise, for some. Eden Shiraz in full character dress. Dark mint chocolate, blackcurrant pastille and blackberry, brown spices and a little juniper berry bunchy top note. Medium bodied, smooth and succulent, truffle infused black fruits, subtle oak, and a clean long finish. Acidity is perfectly pitched, and the flow and delivery is spot on. Some red fruits and rhubarb in the aftertaste. Some may rate this even more highly.
