Constantia is a historic wine-growing ward in the district of Cape Town in the Coastal Region of South Africa. The area is… rainy, with as much as 1,000mm of rain annually, and relatively cool, with nearby False Bay carrying in chilling sea breezes. Soils here comprise decomposed granite, clay, and sandstone; these soils are both free-draining and fertile. Primary plantings are of Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Shiraz.
