A delightful wine for current drinking. It’s light to medium bodied with the fruit sourced from throughout South Australia. Aromas of rustic strawberry with a little rose petal and spiciness. The palate is soft and supple but with good structure and poise. - Ray Jordan Thistledown is the vision of Master of Wine, Giles Cooke. Working with Grenache growers in unique sites across Barossa Valley, McLaren Vale and Riverland, Giles makes elegant, fine, aromatic reds. Choosing to focus on the Grenache grape shows the belief Giles has in this special variety. Thistledown Grenaches are made in small quantities in the Adelaide Hills. Aromatic and lifted on the nose with a beautifully layered, textural palate with wild strawberry and spice, succulent, juicy and Pinot-like in its profile while the finish is savoury and moreish. This wine is tasty with chicken and turkey, pork and veal and Mexican food.
