Sourced from a single vineyard located at Sweetwater Ridge in the northern Belford end of the Lower Hunter Valley. Since 1844 the soils of Sweetwater Hermitage have been the foundation for some of the oldest known vineyards in the Hunter Valley. Made by superstar Hunter Valley winemaker, Andrew Thomas while he was head winemaker at Tyrrell's, this is a back-vintage released from the winery specially for United Cellars customers! Concentrated, deep red and blue fruited frame, and a lengthy, supple tannin profile that has softened with careful cellaring. The deliciously intense mid palate provides some awesome current drinking appeal.

The short, branded cork has done its job well with no wine travel down the sides. Earthy/leathery regional flavours have now taken hold of the palate, but not to its detriment, for there is no break-up or loss of overall flavour. Its future rests to a degree with the cork gods, but on the evidence of this bottle, go for it.
