While the initial juicy freshness makes this wine immediately enjoyable, the structure will make it a wine the you can happily lay down for 5+ years. There are some fresh strawberry and raspberry fruits on the nose. The palate starts our with fresh fruits and a hit of earthiness, and then the depth and structure of the old vine fruit kicks in giving the wine a long and savoury finish.

Slight smokiness and spice, raspberry, a little pencilly oak and dried herb perfume. It’s light to medium bodied, full of raspberry flavour, layered with a subtle earthiness and spice, fine grained tannin, and a pretty good finish. It’s a lovely thing to drink. Not overly complex or deep, but very tasty. I like the tannin that comes through on exit too.: structure is excellent. Comes up well with some air.

The straight bat of the Holyman Pinots, with uncluttered fruit forward drinking. Bright garnet with a pale red hue. Immediately, spicy red fruit - redcurrants, mulberry and black cherry, the brown spice from French oak, as support only. Juicy, round, fleshy and fresh with pleasingly fine tannins adding shape. Delicious.
