79% Mourvedre, 12% Grenache Noir and 9% Touriga Nacional. “This vintage saw the opportunity to make an even more versatile style with a greater level of complexity from the inclusion of Mourvedre and Touriga Nacional. A more serious and thought-provoking release.” - Stephen Pannell White flowers and watermelon and flavours of Aperol, raspberry, blood orange and sherbet. Immediate palate, balanced acidity & a driving finish beckoning for the second sip. Stephen Pannell is arguably one of Australia's best wine makers at present, a man who's primary aim is to make wines that are a joy to drink, and suit the Australian climate and diet. He is recipient of a multitude of awards which include twice winning the Jimmy Watson Trophy, 4 time winner of the Bushing King Trophy, International Red Winemaker of the Year at the IWC, and being named by Decanter Magazine as one of the 50 most influential contributors to the world of wine. Orange peel and spice, a bit smoky, raspberry, but certainly falling more towards earthy and savoury than simply fruity. Dry, packed with dried herbs and citrus, firm almost chalky texture, dry finish with a zesty orange tang. A bit ‘intellectual’, yet easy to smash.
