Peregrine Wines have named themselves after the Peregrine Falcon, a rare bird of prey found in very small numbers in Otago where the winery is based. This superb Pinot Noir is hand-harvested, warm-fermented and matured on French oak barrels for 10 months. An expressive nose of cherry, raspberry and mocha leads into a silky and refined palate of ripe black cherry fruit, nuanced with wonderful spice notes. Drink now, or cellar for 5 years or more.

James Suckling
A bright, vibrant nose here with a wealth of mixed ripe berries and plenty of fresh fragrances, too. There are also poached, pepper-dusted raspberries, which make this mouth-wateringly fresh. The palate has bright and crunchy mid-palate appeal with a handy tannin surge that builds savory grip through the finish. Very attractive wine.

Pale to medium ruby with a hint of purple, the 2012 Peregrine Pinot Noir offers tons of expressive red cherry and warm cranberry notes with hints of wild thyme, lavender, black soil and moss. Light to medium-bodied and finely crafted in the mouth, it gives just enough fruit for the grainy textured, solid foundation, finishing with very good persistence.

(Tasted March 2019) This is looking so good after an extra few years in the cellar- extra layers of smoked charcuterie and blackberry. Tannins have softened, rounding out the wine and and placing it right in the sweet spot - MF
