From family owned & operated estate founded in 1996, this wine has a Bouquet of maraschino cherries, plums, cranberries and cedar. A core of dark cherry, cloves and wild herbs are supported by bright fruit and French oak that complement a rich soft palate with finely integrated fruit tannins.
Farmed using sustainable practices & minimal intervention, the vines planted bordering the Ruamahunga River in Gladstone, Wairarapa are on stony, free draining, alluvial soils, with a micro climate giving warm daily temperatures, cool nights and low rainfall; perfect conditions for producing distinctive, quality wines.

Huon Hooke
Deepish red colour with a purple tint, and a spicy bouquet reflecting foresty whole-bunch fermented characters with stalky root vegetable notes. The palate is intense and tight with a touch of firmness. Liberal tannins. There is abundant smoky oak and whole-bunch, and it's very complex and bursting with character.
