This pack contains a bottle of 12 different wines to be opened during a series of 4 online tastings held throughout May and early June 2020. During the COVID-19 lockdown, we will be running a series of online, interactive tastings.

Across 4 weeks we will taste wines sourced from the diverse corners of this country famous for its wines. Week 1 will take us to the North-East to the regions of Friuli and the Veneto. This region is famous for Sparkling wines and crisp, dry whites, but also makes some fascinating reds
BABO PROSECCO NV RRP $30
POGGIO DEI PRINCIPI PINOT GRIGIO 2018 RRP $20
CA'DELLA SCALA ALLEGRETTO VALPOLICELLA DOC 2017 RRP $40

Week 2 takes us to the North-West to Piemonte- the foot of the mountains. This region is famous for big, age-worthy red, Nebbiolo and rich food.
PIETRO RINALDI DOLCETTO 2018 RRP $40
ASCHERI LANGHE NEBBIOLO 2017 RRP $60
ASCHERI BAROLO 2015 RRP $100

Week 3 we travel to Tuscany in central Italy, one of Italy's most famous wine regions. We will study Sangiovese in all its glory across different vintages, styles and expressions.
LE MICCINE CHIANTI CLASSICO DOCG 2017 RRP $50
LE MICCINE CHIANTI RISERVA DOCG 2016 RRP $75
VAL DI SUGA ROSSO DI MONTALCINO 2017 RRP $75

Our final training session in week 4 will take us to the Centre and south of Italy, to the areas that hug the sunny coastline of Italy as well as the high mountains. These are the less famous, but often most exciting regions to try!

VALORI MONTEPULCIANO D’ABRUZZO DOC 2016 RRP $40
POGGIO ANIMA 'ASMODEUS' NERO D'AVOLA SICILIA 2017 RRP $25

ASCHERI BAROLO 2015 - "A blend of 3 vineyards. Cocoa nibs, smoke, black earth, hints of truffle and a bright Campari/blood orange lift through it all. Flavours of complex soy, salt and earthy spices. Searing blade of acidity balances the firm but not chalky or bitter tannins. Amazing levels of complexity and intensity. Balanced despite relative youth- pretty and brooding at the same time."

ASCHERI LANGHE NEBBIOLO 2017 - "Not trying to be a baby Barolo- very elegant and pretty floral nose, blue and red fruits- not too much tar or earthy spices. Round, plush and generous on the palate with bright frame of acidity and chalk dust tannins- all of which is high, but the fruit weight lifts to match it. Beautiful black olive tapenade finish. Absolutely delicious."

LE MICCINE CHIANTI CLASSICO DOCG 2017 - "A piercingly fresh nose! Crunchy red and dark fruits with a slatey, mineral feel. There’s so much freshness and verve here, underpinned with fine tannins. This is a medium-bodied wine, with great intensity. Fresh, elegant yet also with good concentration of both red and dark fruits. Delicious and fresh finish and real concentration - a stunningly fresh and elegant wine."

LE MICCINE CHIANTI CLASSICO DOCG 2017 - "Fine depth and ‘minerality’ for an entry level Chianti here. It’s red and black fruits, tobacco and crushed rocks, some chocolate, dried herbs and nuts. Tannin is rolling, grainy and ferrous, richness of fruit, freshness of acidity, no shortage of flavour, and heaps of delicious chewiness. Bloody good. This is a producer to watch."
