Oakridge Wines has been at the centre of Yarra Valley viticulture and winemaking excellence for over 30 years now. Originally established at Seville in the Upper Yarra Valley, Oakridge now calls Coldstream home, where winemaker David Bicknell is a master of creating fine Chardonnay.
The Oakridge range of wines is carefully crafted to represent the Yarra Valley, with great focus placed on the belief that great wines are made in the vineyard, while traditional winemaking techniques with minimal intervention is applied in the winery.

The Yarra Valley has three distinct geographic zones or sub-regions -lower warmer, middle cool and higher cooler sub-regions. We have matched particular varieties with the specific sites to give you outstanding examples of single vineyard wines.
Orange rind, stewed cherries, spice and a kind of sweet woodsmoke/stem character appear on the nose. Tannin rolls assertively through the wine, but not inappropriately. A lively, cranberry-like aspect adds a fresher feel.

Medium to full red colour with a tinge of purple. The bouquet is subtle and discreet, with nuances of toast from oak and lightly-smoked charcuterie, with underlying dark cherry. Very attractive, the palate concentrated, tight and well-structured, with grip and backbone and length. There is a nice core of fruit-sweetness.
