Located at the southern end of McLaren Vale, the soil here is heavy grey loam mixed with black Biscay clay and sits above ancient Ngaltinga formation bedrock.
The fruit is crushed immediately upon arrival at the winery, the skins and juice mix for several days, aftr which fermentation begins. Following ferment the wine is transferred into oak barrels where it stays for eighteen months before bottling.
The resulting wine is Rich with spicy dark plum, blackberry and liquorice flavours that are backed by fresh acidity and slightly chewy tannins. Subtle elements of vanillin cedar, fennel and pepper sit underneath. Slightly dryish finish with a bright mid length aftertaste

James Halliday
(2018 vintage) "Ladles of dark chocolate are poured over bright, lively red fruits of both the bouquet and medium-bodied palate. A tad more structure wouldn't upset the balance of the wine, but it's easy to enjoy now."
