McLaren Vale

The McLaren Vale wine region is only 35km south of Adelaide, barely a 45-minute drive from the airport, straight down the picturesque coastline.

The region has a maritime climate and is most renowned for producing rich, ripe smooth Shiraz with considerable power and complexity. The grape is by far and away the most widely planted in the region, accounting for around half of the annual crush.

Some of the most sought-after wines from the region come from very low yielding, dry-grown vines that produce intensely flavoured wines worthy of a spot in your cellar.
