The Kindred Spirits Hawkes Bay Pinot Noir is sourced from the maritime Te Awanga sub-region of Hawkes Bay from a 12 year old vineyard. A lifted and expressive nose with an array of red cherry, wild forest and almost gamey aromas. The palate is rich and fruit driven with more red fruits, blood plum, fennel and spice along with some darker, exotic complexing notes. Fine tannins and bright acidity provide shape and balance to the generous fruit.

Hawke’s Bay not really known for its Pinot Noir, but is well known for important grapes like Merlot and Cabernet. Cherry and rich raspberry, spicy, peppery and sappy with tamarillo tartness giving it a little edge. Medium bodied, juicy red fruit, but dry feeling wine with a spine of bright acidity, powdery tannin and a peppery red fruited finish. It’s a pretty direct style, not so layered, but good to drink.
