Winemaker Notes - Estate-grown, hand-harvested grapes are fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks with approximately 15 days maceration. During fermentation, delestage and pumping-over takes place twice a day. After the malolactic fermentation, the wine is racked into barrels and 4,000 liter casks where it matures for about one year. Blend: 80% Sangiovese, 15% Canaiolo, 5% Syrah Deep dark red black tinged colour with a dark red hue. Intense ripe dark to black currant and dark cherry aromas are matched up with earth, old cedar, dried herbs, tobacco, hints of leather and spice. The delicious medium bodied palate is blessed with rich red to dark currant and cherry fruits which have a fleshy feel. Subtle elements of earth, old cedar, dried herbs, tobacco and spice sit beneath. There’s a sturdiness to the tannins yet they come across as very refined and quite polished. Excellent depth with a long and savoury aftertaste.
