This is a cabernet blend. It’s worth studying. It has finesse, it has flavour, it’s finely-tuned and it feels flush through the finish. Oak and fruit are on great terms, tannin is perfectly formed, and acidity adds a line of freshness to the wine without moving a petal. It’s not a sweet wine but it’s ripe; it’s not bitter but there are layers of herbs; it’s not ‘big’ but it spreads across the palate impressively. It’s worth every cent.

Cabernet sauvignon, merlot and petit verdot from the vineyard on Briarty Road planted in '97. A generous wine, fruit, oak and tannins all playing positive roles in this layered and balanced wine that will be long lived.

It’s amazing how some modern cabernets can be so drinkable so young. This cabernet sauvignon, merlot, petit verdot blend is utterly delicious, but will surely also age well. Clean, ripely fragrant cassis, cedar, mixed berry aromas introduce a stylish, elegant wine of medium to full body, juicy berry flavours and soft, powdery tannins.
