A complex, alluringly perfumed, silky textured wine. Aromas of lavender, rose petal and jasmine green tea are complemented by hints of spice and chalky-talc notes. The nose leads into a soft, elegant yet flavoursome palate. A luxurious wine with a taughtness on the palate giving it real focus, it is distinguished by a pronounced juicy citrus tone and underlying talc/quartz-like minerality. The finely textured acidity provides a sensous mouthcoating of expressive fruit; think funky tropical, making this a charmingly complex wine. The unconventional name of Poison Hill Vineyard is a result of it being located on the slopes of a hill where Heartleaf Clover is found- a native plant poisonous to all non-native animals.

Green apple, almost a vanilla/white flower perfume, smoke and spice. It’s powerful and slick in texture, the fruit and glycerol smoothing out that almost unrelenting acidity. Has a crushed rock and petrol thing happening, a crunch and dryness, lemon pith and abraded texture pushing out the finish. Tart, yet full in flavour. It’s a powerhouse of dry Riesling.
