Complex and perfumed on the nose it has alluring citrus pith, zesty orange, lime and cumquat. Delicate flavours of spice and ironstone mineral undertones. There is a real softness and generosity of fruit on the front and mid palate. The evident fruit weight is kept in check with rounded yet apparent acidity giving the wine direction, tightness and length. A fusion between fruit intensity, ironstone flintiness and saline mineral acidity is complemented by an overlying silky-texture. The wine is balanced by a fragile delicacy and lightness of touch that persists through the long refreshing finish of this distinguished riesling. Farmed organically, the Frankland Estate Isolation Ridge Vineyard Riesling is consistently ranked among the best in Australia and has won widespread critical acclaim.

Single vineyard riesling from the masters of the variety. Class will out. This is a sensationally long-flavoured riesling and yet it’s pretty and elegant too. Quite a feat. Florals, lime, slate and spice. Intensity and length, for sure, but finesse is arguably the thing here.

All the hallmarks of this site are at play with camomile and blossom, the lightness of touch on the palate with its citrus notes, some concentration and texture yet the steely freshness and acidity so pure it creates an ultra-fine and long finish.

The 2016 Frankland Estate Isolation Ridge Riesling is at its scintillating, tense best. The single-vineyard offering from 2016 is a pure, driven white of citrus and green apple perfume and flavours. It's a long, fine and energetic riesling. There's argument that the wine might not cellar as long as previous releases, a touch of extra juiciness appears here, but you'll be fine for the medium term.
