Sauternes

Home of the greatest dessert wines in the world. 65km south of Bordeaux city lies Sauternes, the most revered sweet wine region in the world. The entire appellation has just over 2000 hectares of vineyards, divided into five communes - of these five, Barsac is the only one with a label of its own. Chateau de Myrat Sauternes 375ml 2007
"Tasted single blind against its peers. I was so glad to re-taste the excellent Chateau de Myrat 2007 in bottle. It has a deeper color than its peers and the nose has a profound depth, offering pure scents of white peach and quince. The palate is rich on the entry and displays an engaging nuttiness from start to finish with dried honey, almond, and a touch of ginger lingering in the mouth. Long and persistent, this Chateau de Myrat is well worth seeking...

    Chateau Guiraud Sauternes 375ml 2008
The nose is spicy, intense, complex and elegant. The palate is fresh, balanced, relatively rich and offers a quite “aerial” side. A good acid/fruity frame leads the tasting. In the mouth it expresses notes of white peach, quince, pear, spice and slight...
