Established by PJ Charteris - Charteris was established out of the Winter Vineyard, which is adjacent to Felton Road WInes on Felton Road in Bannockburn.

Tropical fruit and ripe citrus compliment gentle spice and mineral notes. The palate leads with a burst of sweetness like biting into the first of the season’s most delicious tree ripened nectarine. The residual sugar immediately becomes secondary to the intensity of flavour that persists for what seems an eternity. Our characteristic bright acidity provides a knife edge balance and a crisp finish. Remarkably light (8.5% Alc) with appealing minerality.

Scents of peach and apricot, balanced with lime zest. It’s intense and indulgent, with a weighty palate that possesses a unified integration of luscious fruit and residual sugar. A lovely acidity provides freshness and great length. A powerful Block 1 that continues the strong tradition of this unique and fine wine.

The north facing slope of Block 1 with its heavy loess soils always offers a profound expression of Riesling for us. Stone fruits dominate on the nose underpinned by perfumed florals. The palate is immediately expansive and broad with the sheer weight of fruit seamlessly supporting the residual sugar (57 g/L). Candied peel, burnt orange and hazelnut characters offer diversity in the mouth as the taut acid frames the wine and delivers an enduring finish.

The 2018 Maude is sourced from Central Otago’s premium sub regions, each contributing to this savoury, complex Pinot Noir. Aromas of dark cherry, plum and dried herbs team up with a palate that displays layers of dark fruit flavours entwined with velvety but structural tannins. Careful cellaring for 5 years will reward.

Deep ruby in colour with a layered bouquet of red berries, floral and savoury notes. Rich and opulent on the palate with dark cherry, plum and spice. Elegant yet mouth filling with an impressive purity and power. Very good ageing potential.

A sparkling wine exuding elegance and finesse. Pale yellow with a bouquet of green apple and hints of lime and brioche. On the palate, this is flirtatious and moreish. Enhanced by an invigorating cool, creamy acidity. Focused, cool and crisp with beautiful balance and length.

Sourced from a small vineyard located in Bendigo, a fantastic sub-region in Central Otago, New Zealand.
