Passopisciaro is a relatively small estate founded on the ancient, high-altitude volcanic soils of Mt Etna, by Andrea Franchetti, who came from the southern Tuscan estate of Tenuta di Trinoro. The estate uses (almost entirely) the native red grape nerello mascalese.
