The Equipo Navazos P.X. Gran Solera is the result of ageing the pure, very sweet, fortified must of Pedro Ximénez raisins - harvested from vineyards located in the towns of Montalbán, Montemayor and Puente Genil. It's as unique as it is delicious. It has a superb nose of chocolate, espresso coffee, molasses, cigar ash, dates and spices with hints of mint and aromatic herbs. It's thick and dense not as sweet as it really is, it somehow manages to keep a better balance, as age concentrates acidity too. There are no edges, it has a soft texture and it's dangerously easy to drink. - Robert Parker Mid-depth mahogany, the colour grading to olive on the rim. Its racy complexity offers rich Cadbury Old Gold chocolate, together with dried figs and spices. The finish is, of course, sweet, but it doesn't cloy. - James Halliday
