Dark purple colour with lifted notes of red berry and blackcurrants framed by violet overtones and leafy notes. The palate is dense and tightly wound with a core of sweet berried fruits – blueberry, dark plum and smoky spices – and a supple, slippery mounthfeel framed by subtle oak toast and fine tannins. A serious wine at a sensible price – ready to drink now or cellar for up to 10 years. The Elephant in the Room wines are proudly large in scale and expansive in flavour. Ignoring fashion and braving the scorn of “wine thought police”, Elephant in the Room was created to give consumers exactly what they want – full bodied and mouth-filling wines that deliver maximum pleasure. Sourced from low yielding vineyards in Langhorne Creek and partially matured in French Oak before final blending and bottling by Corey Ryan.

Up front and instantly likable, the bouquet shows black/blueberry, dark plum, vanilla and cocoa characters with hints of spice and floral. It is succulent and powerfully expressed on the palate, and delivers punchy fruit flavours and silky texture, beautifully supported by supple tannins. Silky-smooth and delectable. At its best: now to 2020.
