The color is of an intense black. The nose shows a delicate but complex bouquet of aromas: pretty notes of black fruit (blackcurrant, blackberries), smoked and grilled notes and sweet spices. In the mouth, the attack is full of freshness, dense, with fine tannins and beautiful aromas with subtle notes of ageing and red and black fruit. A perfect expression of this terroir. "Domaine & Maison Les Alexandrins" came into being with the collaboration of two key figures of the Northern Rhone Valley: Nicolas Jaboulet, 6th generation of the famed Jaboulet family in Tain l’Hermitage since 1834 and Guillaume Sorrel, son of Marc Sorrel of Domaine Sorrel in Hermitage. Their goal is to achieve the finest expression of the appellation. 4 hectares, Clay-sand. Vineyards located in the villages of Pont d’Isère (Les Flouris) and Beaumont Monteux (Vie Magne). Semi-continental and Mediterranean climates. Manual harvest, destemming 100%, maceration 3 days cold, two pump-over + two punch down/ day. Fermentation 20 days.

I loved the 2018 Crozes-Hermitage from barrel last year and it showed beautifully from bottle. Its dense purple color is followed by rocking notes of black raspberry fruits, tapenade, ground pepper, and smoked earth. This rich, medium to full-bodied, concentrated Crozes-Hermitage has a wonderful texture, ripe tannins, and a great finish. Well worth seeking out, this terrific 2018 will evolve for 10-15 years."

Semi-stemmy on the nose, giving subtle herby notes, plus dark black fruit which gives full body. Attractive soy character on the finish."

Grilled meat and pepper, liquorice and dark fruit, green herbs. Medium-bodied, quite dense and intense, black olives rolled in dried herb, blackcurrant, fresh, compact tannin, coffee and a crisp meaty and spicy finish. Good. Definitely speaks of place.
