Deisen
This idiosyncratic winery is operated by Sabine Deisen, an artist-cum-winemaker, in her garage. That alone might not inspire much confidence in the product, but hear us out. This tiny winery is rated as a Five Star producer by James Halliday, and has produced some truly expressive bottles.
You may not have heard of Deisen before, because they shy away from marketing and produce only a very, very small amount of wine each year. Primarily, they sell their grapes to some of the Barossa's leading wineries (including Rockford) and tend their gardens in the rolling hills of the Barossa's Maranaga region.
With a passion for natural flavour and no pressure to compromise on quality to increase output, Deisen only makes wine that they love. Crafting everything by hand, Deisen is a remarkably good winery that produces tiny amounts of hugely enjoyable wines.
