Chateau Grillet

A small amphitheatre on the banks of the Rhône, Château Grillet has existed since Roman times. Its coarse granite sands and gneissic rock create a loose soil that must be contained by walls, giving the vineyard a unique, terraced appearance. The vineyard's orientation and climate mean that it's drenched with sun throughout the year.

The small, prestigious vineyard uses only Viognier, a full-bodied white grape with a soft character. Typically, Château Grillet's wine offers a floral bouquet, a high alcohol content, and notes of honey, musk, and dried peaches that emerge after some patient cellaring.

One of the smallest AOCs in the Rhône Valley, Château Grillet produces only 13,000 bottles each year.
