A blend of 65% Merlot, 22% Cabernet Franc, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% of the very rare Carmenere (replanted in Bordeaux from cuttings taken from Chile!). Matured in French oak barrels, 60% of which are new. The nose is bright and vibrant, showing notes of violets and dark and red fruits. The palate shows a mineral, vibrant acidity and notes of wet stone, plums, and a subtle herbaceousness. The wine is well-balanced and fresh.

Attractive floral nose, brooding and slight earthy notes beneath the violets. Mid weight on the palate with moderate concentration and finely tuned chalky tannins, dark fruits with a touch of spice and a layered caramel infused finish. Should drink relatively young and provide plenty of enjoyment.

Lovely fresh blackcurrants and soft violets on the delicate nose. High acidity is noticeable immediately, vibrant and mouthwatering with chalky tannins in the background that settle on the tongue and cheeks. A nice cooling freshness to this (also on the finish). You can feel the minerality from the terroir in the wet stone nuance and this has good persistency. Not the most complex but really well balanced and a strong effort in the vintage.
