A great wine from the finest terroir, awarded an incredible 99 points from wine critic James Suckling. "The 2016 Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey has a perfumed, minerally bouquet that is taut and focused, beautifully defined and very precise. The palate is very well balanced with peach, nectarine and honey on the entry. This is a complex Sauternes, armed with superb acidity and bite, leading to a persistent finish that offers a dab of peaches and cream on the aftertaste." Neal Martin, The Wine Advocate

This is really crazy. The layers of fruit to this and the sheer intensity are really superb. Full-bodied and very sweet yet energetic and focused. Dense and tight. Tasted it and said OMG right away! 98-99 points.

Medium deep colour. Lemon squash light cedar aromas with marzipan notes. Well concentrated bitter lemon, lemoncello flavours, with grapefruit notes, lovely generous sweet yet not sugary mid palate, fine underlying cedar oak notes. Finishes chalky dry with pure citrus fruit notes. Nice wine. Tasted at the Union des Grand Crus.

Barrel Sample. A perfectly balanced wine, this boasts a beautiful harmony between bright acidity and ripe, sweet fruit. It is rich, but balanced by great acidity as well as lingering spicy notes. It is suited for long-term aging. 93-95 points.

Heady. Big and voluptuous. Masses of botrytised grapes in here, surely? Rich but (just) not too heavy. Quite an impact! When to drink: 2025 - 2042
