Château de Lachassagne is an exceptional place, located in the very south of Burgundy, with a unique view over the Saône Valley. It is a 62 hectares propriety, totally surrounded by small walls called ’"Clos". A clean, pure expression of Burgundy - the perfect introduction to the region. Aromas of fresh red fruits- strawberry, redcurrant and cranberry, followed by light hints of dried herbs. Light structured with fresh acidity and fine tannin. A delicious and very approachable wine. The 2017 vintage of this wine won a GOLD MEDAL at the Concours Général Agricole Paris, one of the most respected and long-running (est. 1860) wine shows in France. In this government run show, almost 3000 judges rate 15,000 wines.

Concentrated blueberry nose with hints of black, mineral earth. Palate is warm and relatively plush, making this an excellent stepping stone from new world to old, but shot through with a firm line of sappy tannins from 30% whole bunch. Distinctively pretty caramel finish due to use of Spanish oak! Same barrels as those used for Rioja matches the whole bunch element better according to the winemaker.
