The Chateau Clos de Bouard is owned by the De Bouard family who are also the owners of Angelus , the property is run by Coralie de Bouard with her Father Hubert assisting as a consultant. The property is ideally located in the Montagne St Emillion near Troplong Mondot & Rocheyron. The 2016 has received some excellent press including the following scores
The nose offers suggestions of flowers,
black raspberries, plum and licorice. On the palate, the soft, silky
textured, lush styled wine offers sweet, ripe, berries with freshness
and the perfect hint dark chocolate in the end note.

Vibrant fruit here with plum, berry and blackberry
character. Full body, firm tannins and a fresh finish. Lovely subtle fruit
and structure here. New wine from de Boüard family.

Rather savoury and meaty. Rich and sweet. Like essence of St-Émilion! Pretty impressive...Drink 2021-2028

The 2016 Clos de Bouärd is the Montagne Saint-Emilion
property owned by Coralie de Boüard and her husband, Loïc Maillet,
Coralie already with winemaking experience under her belt having run
La Fleur de Boüard in Lalande-de-Pomerol. It has a pretty bouquet
with tightly wound minerally scents with touches of licorice filtering
through with time in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with
grainy tannin, crisp acidity, quite linear and taut in style with pencil
lead and tobacco notes lending complexity towards the classically
styled finish. I appreciate both the freshness and the cerebral nature
of this 2016, one that will age with style. Drink date 2021-2040.
