Ceretto
Ceretto Wines features a huge 160 hectares of estate-owned vineyards, 4 wineries, 17 wines, 150 employees across the vineyards, winery and office, 5,000 clients including wine bars and restaurants all over Italy, and 60 countries of export.
Riccardo Ceretto, hailing from Valdivilla (hamlet of Santo Stefano Belbo), founded the Ceretto Casa Vinicola in Alba in the 1930s. In the 60s, Bruno and Marcello, the sons of Riccardo, selected and purchased vineyards in the Langhe and Roero, including some of the best Barolo and Barbaresco cru for making and marketing their wines. After this careful selection, they acquired vineyards in the most valuable positions historically and it was this brilliant insight of the Cru that brought Ceretto wines to the fore of the winemaking elite. In 1986, the Wine Spectator, perhaps the most influential American magazine in the world of wine, featured the two Langhe brothers on the cover, titling them the Barolo Brothers. Today the estate is managed by Bruno and Marcello’s children; Lisa, Roberta, Alessandro and Federico. The organic management, and in some cases biodynamic, was strongly supported and implemented by Alessandro Ceretto, who in 2010 decided to undertake this endeavour and who saw the wines obtain with the vintage 2015 Organic Certification.
