Bodega Colome
One of the highest vineyards in the world, Bodega Colomé was founded in 1831 - probably by the Spanish Governor of Salta - and is now owned by Swiss wine mogul Donald Hess.
Since 2005, head winemaker Thibaut Delmotte has led Bodega Colomé with finesse. A French winemaker with extensive experience from his time in Burgundy and Bordeaux, Delmotte values quality over quantity.
The vineyards are located in the upper part of the Calchaquà Valleys, which is considered to be the world’s highest altitude wine growing region, ranging from 2,300 to 3,111 metres above sea level. The higher the altitudes, the greater the exposure to the sun and the wider the thermal amplitude - this assists photosynthesis and leads to healthy, hardy vines.
Designed to reflect their unique terroir, the wines of Bodega Colome typically feature super-ripe tannins and remarkable freshness.
