As aromatically complex as the Bâtard is, this goes it even one better as here the nose is even spicier with hints of clove, anise, cinnamon, sandalwood and fennel adding breadth to the white and yellow orchard fruit scents. There is superb power and outstanding concentration to the imposingly scaled yet elegant flavors that terminate in a moderately austere but not especially dry finish that is not only impeccably well-balanced but strikingly long as well. This is a terrific if very compact effort where the upside development potential is manifest. Special Note: Don't Miss!
