Anselma Giacomo

Anselma Giacomo

The Anselma Giacomo Estate was founded in the early twentieth century and since then the tradition and quality of their winemaking has been upheld. Each wine possesses the unique characters of the estate and the philosophies of the winemakers. Currently managed by the son of Giaculin Anselma, Franco and his wife Maria, the passion and knowledge of traditional winemaking techniques have been handed down from generation to generation. The Anselma family owns vineyards in the area of Serralunga d'Alba, one of the most prestigious territories in the Langhe. Here the calcareous clay soils and the mild climate intertwine to produce some of the finest grapes in Italy. The land is part of the famous Vigna Rionda vineyard, a "Premier Grand Cru" to use a bit of French. This prestigious Vigna Rionda hillside is where they harvest the grapes for their flagship wine, the Barolo VignaRionda Riserva. Strict attention to detail is paid to the work in the vineyard, from the perspective that great wines are produced only from grapes of excellent quality and maintaining the richness of the earth requires a lot of hard work and passion. Anselma Giacomo solely produce authentic red wines from the area with native grapes, making these wines truly unique. I hear they also make a pretty stellar Grappa.
