Huon Hooke

"Light, bright yellow colour, with a lovely fresh bouquet that displays great complexity of fruit aromas without a lot of toastiness—as yet. Lemon verbena and chamomile notes. The palate is rich and full, without sacrificing delicacy or subtlety. But there is power and drive aplenty. A tad more generous than some vintages, with energy to burn. This will live for a very long time. Big array of lemon-citrus flavours. The acidity charges it with vitality. Long carry. A terrific wine, probably at the start of its peak drinking window."

"Lime and sliced apples on the nose with hints of pebbles follow through to a full body, lovely juicy fruit and a tangy finish. Delicious style to this."

"Still showing the (lack of) colour of a 1yo semillon. The bouquet, also, is partly asleep. The wine comes into its own on the finish and aftertaste, acidity joining lemon curd, lemon juice and a hint of passionfruit. By '23 it should be starting to show its inherently great quality."
