    Cigales - Priorat

    Cigales is a Denominación de Origen Protegida (DOP) – protected designation of origin – in northern Spain with a viti… cultural heritage that dates back to Roman times. The DOP sits on the banks of the Pisuerga River, north of the famed Duero River, with vineyards at elevations ranging from approximately 650 to 800 metres above sea level. It features a dry continental climate with large temperature fluctuations and little rainfall (only approximately 425mm annually, primarily in the shoulder
