Speyside
In northeastern Scotland, Speyside is one of six Scotch whisky regions, alongside Campbeltown, Highland, Islay, Islands, and Lowland. It is home to the largest number of whisky distilleries in Scotland. Speyside whiskies are characteristically fruity, with flavours of apple, pear, honey, vanilla, and spice. Speyside has a reputation for its sweet single-malt whiskies, with styles displaying little to no peat. These whiskies typically mature in Sherry casks. Among the famed whiskies from Speyside are Glenlivet, Macallan, Glenfiddich, Dalwhinnie, and Glenrothes.
