After a vintage in Puglia, Italy, Broomhead left Coriole in 2008 and did another vintage at Châteauneuf-du-Pape in France’s Rhône Valley in ’09 before returning to McLaren Vale. “I put the idea of our own label to Dad and Grandad, and they were happy to come along for the ride,” he says. He made handshake agreements with growers and the best have been with him ever since. They operate out of an old winery south of Adelaide, using all their own equipment. - James Halliday
